Rulebook

Every golfer will compete in 18 holes of stroke play. At the conclusion of the First Round, the top players will advance to Match-Play Brackets to decide the Champions. All golfers must tee-off from the designated hitting mat (either surface of the mat is acceptable).

HAVE FUN!

Our mission of making golf approachable to all neighbors in our community extends to this competitive environment. Verbal and/or physical heckling will not be permitted at this event and are subject to disqualification. Please be mindful of your fellow golfers and support their success in the competition.

SCORING

Scoring is the responsibility of every golfer.

You are trusted to keep the Correct Score for the Player marked on the scorecard in your foursome. Watch that golfer’s strokes and consult with them after each hole to make sure the correct scores are being written down. Also keep your score on the bottom.

At the end of the round, go through the hole by hole scores with the Player to make sure one more time that the scores for each hole is correct (we will add them up). Each scorecard should be signed by both the Player (Attest) and the Scorekeeper.

To keep Pace of Play, there will be a 7 Stroke Maximum per hole. If your 6th stroke doesn’t go into the hole, please promptly pick up your ball and put down a 7 for your score.

TRY YOUR BEST TO KEEP UP WITH THE GROUP IN FRONT OF YOU!

OUT OF BOUNDS

Golfers must play all strokes as it lies and cannot adjust their lie unless on the green, except in “Ground Under Repair Areas” (marked with White Lines). Golfers may place their ball outside of the white lines within 2 club lengths but no closer to the hole.

Out of Bounds is also marked by any fences on the property. If your ball goes through any fence, in the water, or is lost, it will be a 1 stroke penalty. If this happens, just  drop a new ball in the area where your shot entered the hazard (within 2 club lengths, no closer to the hole) and proceed to finish the ball out into the hole. Your score would be as if your tee shot landed where you dropped the ball but with the addition of a 1 stroke penalty.

EXAMPLE: If I hit it way over the green on #3 and it went through the fence. I then dropped a ball back near the fence where it went in, and proceeded to chip it in from the drop. My score on the scorecard would be a 3 for the hole.

OBSTRUCTIONS

Obstructions allow for free relief swings. If your swing will be affected by any fence or immovable obstruction within the course, you are entitled to free relief away, just no closer to the hole (consult your playing partners of where the best place to drop is).

Identified“Free Relief” obstructions:

  • Structure behind the 6th Green

  • All Walkways

  • All Benches

  • Other Hole’s Tee-Boxes (including the dirt surrounding the hitting area)

  • Pebbled Areas in front of Greens on #5, #10, #11, #12

  • There’s some large Ground Under Repair areas surrounding greens. If your ball is in those bare spaces you can elect to use the designated drop areas.

  • If swing or stance is affected by a Fence/Wall. This includes if your ball is stuck in a fence. Once through the fence the ball is deemed Out of Bounds (1 stroke penalty).

Once on the green, golfers can mark their ball, pick it up to clean and replace it. Please help us make the greens puttable for everyone - we encourage you to repair any ball marks on the greens that affect your putt (in addition to the one’s your ball makes).

Flags can be left in or pulled at any time.
